Kara hails from Grande Prairie and is beyond excited to make their mark in the new Edmonton Fringe show, “Regression.” Known for their remarkable versatility, Kara brings a compelling energy to the production. Their performance is set to captivate audiences with its depth and nuance, showcasing their unique talent. They are beyond excited to take the audience on an experience they will never forget! Their previous productions include: Something Rotten, Annie, Love and Information, and Sound of Music! Kara adores the themes of religion, gender roles, and grief throughout this show. We hope you enjoy!
Pauline Miki
Unice
Pauline Miki (she/her/siya) is a Filipino emerging actor based in Edmonton, Alberta. She has showcased her versatility across theatre, television, film, and voice-over work. Select theatre credits include “Working It Out” (Work Plays), “The Wolves” (Maggie Tree & Citadel Theatre) and Scamway and Wild Moo's Chase (Cathexis Theatre), while her select screen appearances feature “Enough” (HOY! Productions) and “Grotesque 2” (Higher Universe).
Trained by esteemed mentors and programs, she has honed her skills in Shakespeare, dance, music, and combat techniques. She is fluent in English, Filipino, and Bisaya. She LOVES to laugh and she’s always game to talk about Filipino food, your top 3 horror stories, and your favourite guilty pleasure Kdrama! Pauline embraces her ADHD, advocating for mental health awareness. Her commitment to educational theatre and her rich cultural heritage make her a standout talent dedicated to storytelling and community engagement. Maraming salamat!
Chrissie Palacios
Meriella
Chrissie Palacios (she/her) is a Trans Afro-latina artist born and raised in Edmonton. She is a singer, songwriter and a lover of musical theatre. She has previously participated in ‘Shrek The Musical’(2018), 'In The Heights' (2019) at Victoria School Of Arts and ‘The Prom’ (2023) with NUOVA Vocal Arts. She was also a part of The Young Musical Company at the Citadel from 2019-2021. This is Chrissie's first Edmonton Fringe theatre show and she is delighted and excited to be part of the family and working with Cathexis Theatre.
Mera Martens
Mayor Former/Esther
Mera Martens is excited to perform in Regression, her third Fringe show and second show with Cathexis, and would like to thank the amazing cast and crew for making this show come to the stage! They are an Edmonton based artist originally from Grande Prairie, Alberta. Their previous productions include Scamway! with Cathexis Theatre, Monique The Unique Unicorn with Scrap Magic Theatre and Working: A Musical with Citadel Young Companies. When she’s not busy portraying fictional local government, you can usually find them reading, playing video games, playing tabletop RPGs, researching real life cults, and/or trying to pet stray cats!
Colin Bluekens
William Shakespear/Citizen 1/Plain Man
Colin Bluekens is a an actor who has been performing for 15 years. He has recently graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts with a focus in Acting from the University of Alberta. He has been in several shows over the years and was most recently in "Ride Lyke Hell" as Rawlings, "Working It Out" as Ben, and as Sergeant Lamb in the play "Butcher." Colin is thrilled to be back at Fringe and is very excited to work with such a talented team. The process has been an absolute joy and he hopes you enjoy all the hard work that was put into it!
Tom Blazejewicz
Vincent Van Gogh/Citizen 2
Tom has had a rather inspirational acting career path. In between standing ovations with performances with The 404s, as well as national performances with Live History and fun loving adventures with Terry Shane Murder Mysteries, he finds the time to appear in popular films like “Hot Box”, “Grotesque”, “Grotesque 2”, and “I’m Haunted 2”. Tom has appeared on stage with Cathexis in some of their previous shows like “Murder Mime the Musical”, and “The Big Bright”, and is so glad to perform with his friends again!
Dave Froland
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Citizen 3
This is David's second show with Cathexis Theatre and he is wondrously excited to once again create stories with this team of artists. David is a performer from Edmonton and is a teacher of young humans. He has been involved in theatre since he can remember and is a graduate of Macewan's Theatre Arts program. Selected stage credits include: High Fidelity, Company (LDS) Pedestrians, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Peter Pan, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Macewan University) and Wild Moo's Chase with Cathexis. Special thanks and love to his two little humans at home who have been patient and supportive throughout this creative process. Welcome to Prior and happy Fringing 2024.

Erin Hutchison
Playwright/Lyricist, Director, Sound Designer
Erin is an Edmonton-based Director, Playwright, Actor, Clown and the Artistic Director of Cathexis Theatre. Previously written and directed shows include Scamway, Wild Moo's Chase, The Big Bright, Murder Mime the Musical, and The Grave Digger. Erin is a graduate of the Theatre Arts program at MacEwan University and has been creating and telling stories ever since. She is so thankful for everyone who has offered a helping hand throughout her theatrical ventures, and is honoured to put on a show with these incredible people. Erin enjoys all things chaos and hopes you enjoy the show!
Michelle Glen
Composer/Pianist
Michelle is an Edmonton based composer, songwriter and sound designer. Originally from Grimshaw, Alberta, she received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Alberta in 2019. Michelle is passionate about narrative musical works and enjoys exploring the crossover of storytelling and music through theatre, film and video games. She has composed works for chamber ensembles, choral ensembles, opera, solo instruments and electronics. Michelle is passionate about bringing important topics to light through collaborative works and hopes to inspire audiences in thought provoking ways. She is thrilled to have been involved in the creative process for Wild Moo’s Chase as well as Scamway and is excited to return to the Fringe Festival this summer.
Andrew Despres

Once more into the breach my dear friends? (Erin is going to be so mad with this quote!)
This is Andrew's second foray into producing and he is so excited to be doing it with Cathexis Theatre! Andrew is a Theatre Arts MacEwan graduate from all the way back in 2007. This is the 5th show with Cathexis Theatre he has been involved with going back to 2014. Previous shows include Murder Mime the Musical (2014 and 2017), The Big Bright (2019) and Wild Moo's Chase (2022).
Andrew is a full time IT Professional in his regular day to day life and the Owner of Techead Solutions, a local IT Consulting company.

Erin Vandermolen-Pater
Musical Director
Erin V-P is a singer, actor, aerialist, music teacher, and zoo keeper (2 cats, 1 dog, 1 husband). She recently performed in the NUOVA Vocals Arts (formerly Opera NUOVA) production of Romance, Romance at the Capitol Theatre in Fort Edmonton Park; and was a part of the Alberta Circus Arts Festival with a singing hoop act. She graduated from the Canadian College of Performing Arts a lifetime ago, and Victoria School of the Arts a lifetime before that. As always, thanks to Chet for his patience, for putting up with our menagerie of pets, and for keeping food in the fridge and on the table.
Louise Mallory
Stage Manager
Louise Mallory (she/her) loves the Edmonton Fringe! As well as stage-managing Regression, you can find Louise serving drinks as a beer tent volunteer, attending as many indoor shows as she can, visiting with Fringe-friends she only sees once a year, hosting visiting artists, and blogging about what she watches at ephemeralpleasures.com. Louise’s most recent Fringe credits were stage managing i carry your heart with me (Egg Theatre, Fringe 2023) and White Guy on Stage Talking (innocent operations, Fringe 2022). In the off-season, Louise serves as a board member for Walterdale Theatre, writes scripts, directs, and helps new volunteers get involved with theatre production. Louise will be directing Mark Crawford’s comedy Stag and Doe for Walterdale in 2025. Thank you to Erin and the whole team for a great experience! Sustain Fringe!
Jennifer Bilyk
Choreographer
Jennifer started dancing at a young age at L.A Dance Academy in Leduc, and continued her dance journey at Dance FX in Wetaskiwin, where she immediately fell in love with the art form and performing. Her love of performance led her to musical theatre, a passion that she took from the age of 6 through to university. Jennifer graduated from Macewan’s Theatre Arts program in 2013 alongside Erin. Since then, Jennifer has gratefully choreographed for Cathexis consistently, including Grave Digger, Murder Mime The Musical, The Big Bright, Wild Moos Chase, and SCAMWAY! Jennifer is excited and thankful to be back for this years show of Regression.
Caitlan Argueta
Costume, Props and Set Designer
Caitlan Argueta is an Edmonton-based Latinx theatre technician and designer who graduated from MacEwan University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Production and studied at The Banff Center for Arts and Creativity. They specialize in Sound, Wardrobe, and Props. Caitlan is thrilled to be debuting their designs with Cathexis Theatre's Regression.

Lighting Designer
Payal Jotania is an Architect and set, costume and lighting designer from India. She is currently working on a thesis towards her MFA in Theater Design at University of Alberta. She is experienced as art director,and production designer and has designed
for commercial and feature films, television and TV commercials in the Indian film industry. She has received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from University
of Mumbai, India. She is an emerging designer exploring the possibilities of
amalgamation of different aspects of theater and films. Her credits include The Devils (Set and Props Designer), Indecent (Costume Designer), Girl in the Goldfish Bowl (Lighting Designer), Rough Magic (Lighting Designer), The Circle at University
of Alberta (Head Scenic Paint), Everybody (Lighting Assistant).
Emily Smith is so excited to be working with Cathexis theatre for the fourth year in a row! They appeared in Big Bright and Scamway and dramaturged The Big Bright, Wild Moos Chase and Scamway. When they are not performing in Fringe they can be found performing clown turns as Shorty with their clown partner Scamp and has recently completed the BFA in Musical Theatre at MacEwan. Enjoy the show!
